Research Home
This section describes research in the basin relating to water, climate, and drought from a variety of sources. Some publications can be found at the USGS website. Many of these need to be purchased from the site but others can be downloaded for free. Most of the free research reports are found in the specific research sections on this site.
Other publications are available for ordering through the School of Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Colorado State University and Kansas State University Research and Extension both have online libraries that house several papers and studies pertaining to the Republican River Basin.
Other websites are under construction for collecting and disseminating water-related information in the basin, such as the website of the Great Plains Water Observatory Network. Sharing research data and results is essential for keeping researchers and decision markers updated on the newest developments, and for applying this knowledge toward the development and implementation of sustainable water management strategies.
