Legislation Home
Legislation has been an important part of managing water in the Basin. There are many people from three states involved in the management of the basin, often with differing views on how the basin's resources should be managed. Formulating legislation is one way to outline the rights and responsibilities of parties in managing water resources in the basin.
This section highlights relevant water legislation in the basin, including the Republican River Compact that was initially created in 1943 and revised in 2002. It's also a source for the latest news on legislations that could affect the basin.
