Forecasts Home

There are many tools available for forecasting. Knowing which ones to use to predict water availability and drought can be difficult. Over the years better models and understanding of the dynamics between the oceans, land, and atmosphere, along with increased computing power, have made forecasting more feasible. A combination of indicators, such as weather conditions, surface water, soil moisture, and climate change, are all useful to predict water availability and potential drought risks. This section discusses many of the models that are available for use and introduces the tools associated with them.
