Current Conditions Home
Monitoring water and drought conditions takes many resources. No one definition or tool can detail all of the components of water and drought monitoring. It is often necessary to utilize several indicators or combine them in a decision support tool for monitoring extreme droughts and floods. Some of the components associated with these decision support tools are weather conditions, surface water, ground water, soil moisture, evaporation and snow. This section discusses some of the tools that can be used to monitor drought and water conditions.
